Infant Feeding Evaluations

We offer infant feeding assessments through a comprehensive approach without a delay in evaluation and treatment (if needed).  Our CLC certified team consists of an occupational and speech who will examine your child’s infant feeding skills including breast feeding, bottle feeding, oral motor, oral sensory, swallow safety/physiology, motor development, infant regulation,and food transitions to provide your family with a cohesive feeding plan to address the your concerns.

Each plan of care will vary depending on your child’s and your family’s needs so that we provide services that best support you.  Adhering to the comprehensive approach, we will coordinate with your IBCLCs, pediatrician, other therapists, and other medical specialists as needed.   

    • Your baby does not look at his/her feeder 

    • Your baby arches, cries, or seems uncomfortable during a feeding  

    • Your baby is easily distracted or needs distraction in order to eat 

    • Your baby latches and unlatches frequently  

    • Your baby seems to be expending a lot of effort while eating (sweating or getting tired quickly) 

    • Your baby is showing physiological signs such as red or watery eyes while feeding, coughing, gagging, raspy vocal quality, or cry during or just following a feeding 

    • Your baby does not mouth toys 

    • Your baby does not make the typical transition to purees or table foods
